CAHFC was established in 1981 to address the needs of first-time home buyers, developers, realtors and investors by multiplying access to the life-changing benefits of quality workforce housing for Central Texas families. Our properties are well designed, well developed, well managed and financially sound. Today we assist in meeting the housing needs of workforce families in Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano and Williamson Counties and the City of San Marcos.
To date, we have guided our first time home buyer clients through the acquisition of approximately 3,500 homes. In addition, we have financed over 3,500 multi-family units holding an ownership interest in over 860 units and serving as active partners in development in both bond and 9% tax credit programs.
We provide both single family home ownership and multi-family rental opportunities to persons meeting certain income requirements. Our services include down payment assistance and Mortgage Credit Certificate programs for first time homebuyers. We also finance the construction or acquisition of multi-family communities designed to provide below market rate rental opportunities. As appropriate, we may co-develop and assume an ownership role in the property.
The Multi-Family Financing Program provides financing for construction or rehabilitation of multi-family communities that meet specific rental rate guidelines. We provide tax exempt Mortgage Revenue Bond financing for privately owned communities through the Texas Bond Review Board Private Activity Bond Program and through the Issuance of tax exempt 501(c)(3) bonds. The 501(c)(3) bonds are issued on behalf of a non-profit owner. All bonds are repaid solely through project revenues.
